we have like 40 (open) pokemon fans in my grade alone it's crazy

gen 4 is considered god tier to them, they all like gen 3 too but most of them only played emerald and not sapphire / ruby.
Gen 5 was a complete non-event. No one was here for it at my school, me and my 3 closest friends were the only ones who bought it

even though all of them owned diamond / pearl, no one cares for black / white. I had promoted it so hard to them too
Gen 6 was and still is HUGE in my school. At least 25-30 kids bought a 3ds JUST for X / Y. That's the only game they own for there system too. It was crazy because at this point I'm in high school / college level classes and everyone is pulling out there 3DS's and battling each other in pokemon. I don't know if this was a local thing, but the X/Y era felt like the biggest gaming era this decade so far in my area.
Sadly ORAS kinda flopped where I live. It came out too quick and people were still buying their 3ds's and X/Y so no one really got ORAS.
It's just so weird how Pokemon is still killing it 30 years later. And I hope we do get Z, because Platnium / Emerald / B2W2 are the most acclaimed version of each generation and most people I know end up buying the sequels
