The point of the whole interview is so fans can get to know Justin bieber better, interviews are not always strictly music, but this topic isnt too far from his music as his whole new album has a lot of songs about love (clearly about Selena) and its okay for him and her to talk about each other, they were a huge part of each others lives and that wont change.

i dont think people would care enough to write about his relationship if he dates a normal girl
he never avoid this question bc he wants this question to keep coming, he very well know that by just saying selena name he could make way more headlines than by his basic music
