Michael Jackson’s game-changing 1979 LP Off the Wall, the first of MJ’s monumental collaborations with producer Quincy Jones—the record that “invented modern pop as we know it,” as Rolling Stone put it—gets the lavish reissue treatment during Black History Month on 2/26.
The Estate of Michael Jackson and Sony Legacy Recordings will release the exclusive CD/DVD and CD/Blu Ray editions of the album, which will include the original recording bundled with the new Spike Lee documentary Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall.
The doc, which gets its world premiere at Sundance 1/24, comes to TV via Showtime on 2/5. It was produced by Lee, John Branca and John McClain.
im ok with re releases with some new docus and extra stuff, but I am against them releasing his unreleased songs and making "new albums" out of them,,,
