I can't answer that question for you, I have no idea why she chooses not to sing live. It might be to do with the fact that she's more focused on trying to put on a good show than to sing; The Onyx Hotel Tour is a great example of this as althoug she sang live for the majority of it, parts of it were lip-synched because if the complexity of her dance moves. But she most definitely can sing live, there's many videos on YouTube proving this fact.

I think it's cause her label retrained her voice to sound like the nasally-baby voice she usually sings with.
That plus her constant smoking plus the fact that she hasn't trained her voice in YEARS all made her vocal talent disappear.
When she got signed to her record label it was because of her voice not her dancing or looks, which so many people mistake.

You Oughta Know was not live. It was pre recorded.

There isn't any reason for her to not continue to sing live after that or on more songs, yet she refused to sing live.

I always thought she sang live though on opening night of FF tour on He About to Lose Me. There was a prerecord end track, but it sounded like she sang a line or two live.

She sang live along with the tracks on the FF your, and there's a mic feed to prove it.
However they have the actual track playing over her so you can't hear.

She does actually sing along to the tracks, her team just place her mic so low it's not even worth it. but then again what you hear isn't that good anyway.
