Do have a HP? Mine used to do that too.

I'm using Windows 10 that has a synaptics mousepad btw.

For me I just go to :

Settings > Devices > Mouse & touchpad > (Scroll down to) Additional mouse options > Click pad settings > Uncheck Pinch Zoom > Apply & OK.

I just bought a mouse eventually because it's effort.
