HFPA like to award new stars/talent as well as big names.

'Lady Gaga wins Golden Globe' is sure to create more headlines/pick up more hits than 'Kirsten Dunst wins Golden Globe.'

Usually, with award shows, headlines/pick ups shouldn't matter. HFPA looooooooves the headlines & attention.

I don't know if I truly believe Gaga will prevail, but she's most definitely the 2nd most likely to win in the category for the above reasons.

TIHTY isn't nominated for the Golden Globes as songs from documentaries aren't eligible for Best Original Song. If TIHTY wins the Critics' Choice Award AND the Satellite Award, it'll be a lock to win the Oscar.
