I can tell you as someone who records and writes on and off
that this happens all the time. I've recorded a feature without
the artist and I didn't even meet the producer till months after all you
need in the room is the engineer

That's not the same as being an a group

what I am saying is the recording process is always only about who is in the booth
at the moment. The notes that lauren gets about her parts are not coming from ally
they are coming from the producer or engineer. Sure its nice to be there for moral support
but it makes no difference to the song itself if all singers are in the studio at the same time
