It's called a personal life for a reason and some people just don't want to say anything. You don't see straight people having the need to come out to the world, so why should he to the public which isn't even connected to his personal life in any way.
Besides he already confirmed it

I think it's more the fact that he actively tried to hide it and cover it up for years and and his team tried to posit that he was straight. I'm sure we all can agree that no one should ever HAVE to come out if they don't want to. But there's a difference between keeping your personal life to yourself and actively trying to bury parts of it because they are shameful.
That's the difference between Colton and say, Jussie Smollett, for example. Jussie also had a similar kind of roundabout "coming out" to Colton, even though it was a fairly well-known fact already. But he never tried to bury it.
Regardless I think it's great that Colton is finally in a place where he feels comfortable to talk about it and be open if he wants to. It's exciting to have another addition to the LGBT family. We could always use more representation in Hollywood, and he's good looking and a nice guy to boot.
