Poll: Is Pokémon anime just... commercial?

Before there's bad blood between Pokemon stans and me just lemme explain my point.

I live for Pokemon's first season and I love the next two seasons... But 17 years later nothing really changed : every season has the same construction, the same events...

So I was wondering : Is the anime version of Pokemon just a commercial support for promoting the video game version? Every season is just based on every new game, basically just the characters change!

I mean look at the Digimon anime version : there's a "real story", a timeline, evolutions... and I feel like there are lots of values they try to teach.

What do you think?

Most Pokemon fans don't really claim the anime so you probably won't be attacked! Also, yes the anime always has and will be for promoting the games.

Ohh its still on T.V? I stop watching,but I swore they said there were 150 pokemon

then new ones started popping up our of no where. And how big is that damn world anyways for him to go to so many regions. And how times is he going to get a new group of friends it quite annoying.

And no it's not because Ash (Red) is the protagonist in Red Blue and Yellow only, and a lot of the things in the anime can't happen in the games. It's used to promote the games but not just a commercial.

Nah Cadcaptor Sakura's anime was meant to boost the mangas sales (which obviously was used as sourcematerial for the anime). That's generally what animes are there for

It's an abortion. Words can't describe how much I loathe the anime. It was watchable through the Hoenn region but once they hit Diamon and Pearl, yikes. Every year it gets more childish. Pretty soon it's only going to be suitable for babies in utero.

Oh, and the loss of 4Kids and the voice actors. Veronica Taylor is Ash Ketchum and always will be.

The anime, and the games for that matter, are extremely repetitive and follow a near exact formula each time. The battle animations are the same and even though the series keeps getting more polished, it's the same thing every time
