#45: Mary J Blige - The One (feat. Drake) (2009)
last year: Jereme De Koste - I Wish (DJ Swoon Remix)
Genre: Hip Hop/R&B
Language(s) - English
Mary J Blige's and Drake's last appearances on the countdown
Today is starting off strong, with a great song by Mary J Blige. This is the oldest song to appear on the countdown so far, being from before this decade, which can be slightly attributed to the song's placement. Anyway, I suppose I'll be roasted for not knowing this song until now, but I'm white . If I recall correctly, umich used this for a challenge in Les ATRLers and it ended up being played in the plug.dj room for the game, and I was hooked on first listen!
Should I give this song a try?: If you haven't already, I would recommend you give it a try if you like some nice urban anthems to add to your collection!
#44: Jun Hyosung - Come To See Me (Fantasia/2015)
last year: Alexandra Stan - Kiss Me Goodbye
Genre: Pop/R&B
Language(s) - Korean
Jun Hyosung's last appearance on the countdown
Well...this isn't quite her #2 spot from last year, but Jun Hyosung is back on my countdown this year! Every time I listen to this song, I feel like I'm in a bustling down town city on a night out, going to a fancy restaurant or catching a show. It gives off such a cool vibe when listening to it, and Jun Hyosung's vocals are pretty good on it, too!
Should I give this song a try?: Admittedly, this song isn't for everyone...especially not the ATRL demographic. However, if you think K-Pop is the same cutesy beat with a punch of pop tarts making cute faces at the screen, you may want to listen to this for a bit of a change of pace.
#43: XO-IQ - Luv Em Boys (2015)
last year: Jessica Sanchez - Gentlemen
Genre: Dance Pop
Language(s) - English
XO-IQ will appear again in the countdown
XO-IQ's second appearance on the countdown, and the only artist to appear two days in a row so far. This song, once upon a time, was my favorite XO-IQ song, but it wore off on me in favor of their other songs. Anyway, this is another dance pop song about how they "luv em boys", regardless of if they are "smart" boys or if they're "jock" boys! The lyrics are a tad cringe which is part of why I got over this song, but it still makes me feel like a fluttering *** so I couldn't not put it on my list!
Should I give this song a try?: To be honest, you'd need to have a sense of humor when it comes to music if you plan on enjoying this because the lyrics are admittedly bad. If you like fun dance pop songs though, I don't see why not.
#42: Sophia Del Carmen - Lipstick (2014)
last year: Kesha - Lover
Genre: Dance Pop
Language(s) - English
Sophia Del Carmen's last appearance on the countdown
This is one of my favorite JLo songs with Red One. No, but seriously, this is a Red One produced dance pop song () that ensures a feel-good vibe when you listen to it. You might even start feeling like a bit of a **** idk. The reason for this song placing where it did is simply because I didn't get much time to listen to it, but it's still a pretty good bop!
Should I give this song a try?: If you like J. Lo's dance songs with Red One, I'm near 100% positive you'd find some enjoyment out of this song..
#41: Mandy Rain - Turn On The DJ (Riot EP/2015)
last year: Delight - Hate You!
Genre: Dance Pop
Language(s) - English
Mandy Rain will appear again in the countdown
Mandy is another artist who makes a return from last year, although she didn't do as good as Jun Hyosung...the tides have...turned, I suppose? Amyway, I was so excited to hear that Mandy had an EP coming out, being that I was such a fan after I became obsessed with "Something Like a Party" 2 years back, and she had some great dance pop songs on her EP - this being one of them. This was my initial favorite, but another song really gripped me more in the end...
Should I give this song a try?: To be honest, she needs any fans she can get. She's a talented singer and songwriter, but she's pretty unknown as of now. I know ATRL user MusicLoverDude knows her, though! He went to school with her actually. I think you should give her a try if you like dance pop music! (Or Demi Lovato because she sounds a lot like her)
With Day 2 passing us by, it is time for us to move on to the Artist Highscores once again, where there seems to be some interesting developments!
1. Mandy Rain - 10
2. Pia Mia/Sophia Del Carmen/XO-IQ - 9
3. Jun Hyosung - 7
4. Mary J Blige/Drake - 6
5. Chris Brown/Tyga - 5
6. Austin Mahone - 4
7. Carishma/Timbaland - 3
8. Monsta X - 1
From second to last to second to first, XO-IQ comes SWINGING with 9 points - however, Mandy Rain, who is today's new #1, has at least one more entry on this chart. Could this be the beginning of a chart rivalry? ANYWAY, Sophia Del Carmen finds herself in a 3-way tie for second with last week's winner, Pia Mia, and the aforementioned XO-IQ. Carmen and Mia, however, will not be returning to the countdown, so it's free reign for XO-IQ. Jun Hyosung finds herself in the Top 3. It will be short-lived, though, as she has no remaining entries on the countdown. So who will come out on Top? Mandy, XO-IQ, Monsta X, someone we haven't seen yet? Tune in to find out!
XGODS-IQ Luv Em Boys song is a great bop. I definitely have to listen to their album next though! Come See Me was really cute but it didn't last very long for me, still glad to see it.
#40: Mandy Rain - Thirsty (Riot EP/2015)
last year: Ed Sheeran - I See Fire
Genre: Dance Pop
Language(s) - English
Mandy Rain's last appearance on the countdown
From closing off the day yesterday to opening it today, Mandy is back with her last song on the countdown - Thirsty! This became my favorite song on the EP pretty quickly because the hook is so catchy, and the song is just so fun to act silly to. Also, I think she sounds even more like Demi in this song...especially since it's live. If only Demi made a bop like this.
Should I give this song a try?: If you happened to listen to Turn On The DJ yesterday and liked it, then yes! I still suggest giving the whole EP a try - it has fun dance pop songs on it that you can dance to!
#39: AronChupa - I'm An Albatraoz (2014)
last year: Sharon Doorson - Louder
Genre: Melbourne Bounce
Language(s) - English
AronChupa's last appearance on the countdown
This is the first really big song on my countdown, although I think where it was big was outside of the US, but hey - at least it's a fun song! I was ADDICTED to this at the end of 2014 (which is actually when my "Best of" time frame starts!), but I simply didn't keep listening to it throughout the year, so that's why it placed where it did.
Should I give this song a try?: You need to have a sense of humor when it comes to music to enjoy this. If you do, go ahead and give it a try! It's a song that doesn't take itself seriously, and it's just a fun time to listen to.
#38: MNEK, Zara Larsson - Never Forget You (2015)
last year: Purfles - 1, 2, 3
Genre: Dance
Language(s) - English
MNEK's and Zara Larsson's last appearances on the countdown
Jesus Christ, if I had a music video section on my year end, this would be Top 5 if not #1. It's so ****ing cute and I love it. Anyway, the song is good, too! I just couldn't really listen to it much because I'd keep thinking of the video and I'd get emotional.
Should I give this song a try?: Both of the singers in this song have good voices if you care about that sort of thing. Also, the song is just really sweet and as I said, the video is too ****ing cute. I'd suggest it~
#37: Ashley Jana - Electricity (2015)
last year: Alexandra Stan - Cherry Pop [Sonic-E & Woolhouse Remix]
Genre: Electro Pop
Language(s) - English
Ashley Jana will appear again in the countdown
So this bitch her discography is pretty much all generic electro pop music and I was LIVING going through her songs. This particular song was the first one I'd heard, and it was my favorite for a while. It ended up getting passed by a different song.
Should I give this song a try?: If you enjoy electro pop, I'd say yes. I'd suggest putting the speed to 1.25x if you do, though; the song is WAY too slow imo.
#36 -Sandra Lyng - Heels Off (2015)
last year: Mia Martina - Global Celebration
Genre: Pop
Language(s) - English
Sandra Lyng will appear again in the countdown
So this song is pretty cute! It's a bit of an urban-influenced pop song altho not really. I didn't listen to this song much, mostly because she has another song that will appear later that I listen to much more! Fun fact: Sandra Lyng is Norwegian! Probably why she won't be familiar to most of y'all. I actually found her on accident myself.
Should I give this song a try?: Do you want to find new pop artists outside of the Top 40 who make some catchy bops? If so, I suggest you give Sandra as an artist a try. She has a few good songs tbh..
With that...day 3 passes us by already! Lets go to the highscores and see what events happened today!
1. Mandy Rain - 21 (2 days @ #1)
2. Sandra Lyng - 15
3. Ashley Jana - 14
4. MNEK/Zara Larsson - 13
5. AronChupa - 12
6. Pia Mia/Sophia Del Carmen/XO-IQ - 9
7. Jun Hyosung - 7
8. Mary J Blige/Drake - 6
9. Chris Brown/Tyga - 5
10. Austin Mahone - 4
Outside Top 10
11. Carishma/Timbaland - 3
12. Monsta X - 1
Mandy Rain keeps her #1 for today, and she's the first artist to have at least 2 days at #1! However, she has no remaining entries on the countdown, but both Sandra (#2) and Ashley (#3) have at least one more entry! Will one of them overtake Mandy as #1, or will someone else?
Nothing eventful outside of the Top 3 has happened, though, as MNEK, Zara Larsson, and AronChupa all only have one entry on the chart. However, some of the lower-charting artists have entries on the chart remaining, will one of them come out swinging as a dark horse? Tune in to find out!

Yes, "Tomorrow is Ours" (on iTunes now!) is a very great album

I feel like yesterday was one of those days where basically only I would like most of the songs on there.
Never Forget You is nice. I like Zara tbh, but sometimes she can be a bit bleh.
I'm An Albatroz is catchy but that song was waaay too overplayed that I can't even think about it anymore I guess it was a big hit everywhere except for the U.S.
