I get what you mean, but I'd rather stan for an artist who ****s up their own eras rather than a label puppet with perfectly executed campaigns. Just my opinion though.

"Player's" just a weak song. She needs to come correct with better music and then focus on pushing it.

It's either: Blow all the money on these two songs and have the album era end now (a la Monica). Or push the album back and try for a stronger single.

If that's true (I haven't watched her interviews) then she made the right choice. If AHOD was going to be a smash it would have been regardless of single order. She had a lot of features and big name producers working on her material. Single order isn't an excuse for her lack of momentum, but promo I can believe since she doesn't book many appearances.

I think "All My Friends" will save her if done right.

They may spend money on All My Friends that is smashing rn in Europe and rising on US Spotify. But they don't.

I haven't listened to it. I'm not a fan of her fly away vocals. But I've only heard good things about Aquarius and her mixtapes so the content must be good. However she doesn't draw me to her music at all personally. Even 2 On I was barely here for.

Monica was a perfect example on your part tbh. RCA has screwed up all their r&b acts lately. Even Chris (in the singles department). Jazmine Sullivan's era was also the pits. Isn't Miguel with them too? Cause they lowkey screwed him up too.

That's why I'm worried. Not because of the wait. If I was her CEO, I'd push the album back too, I've been saying that for a long time. Player is not an album selling song. I'm just worried because of RCA's history...

Not being funny, but a label just fund the project, and release an album when the artist shows potential profit.
If she doesn't show any potential, it's up to her management to book more promo and to promote the artist in general.

I mean with Adele, XL records just funded the album sessions and distribution costs (and decided the best way to distribute the album). It wasn't them who booked her promo (not even that 30 second Hello teaser ad).

Acting would def help her situation.
That's why I don't get her logic in waiting to "dominate the music industry" to go back to acting. It just might be her saving grace. I could see her being a lite version of J Lo (meaning how all of her projects help increase her popularity).

Adele isn't on interscope. She is on XL and XL isn't as big as Interscope or RCA.

I feel like the label also needs to decide what they want out of her. Do they want her to be a pop star who can crossover into the urban market from time to time like rihanna? Or do they want her to be a true R&B/ indie R&B alternative esque singer who releases records that won't necessarily be hits but that can make moves on urban stations? I think T has proven more than enough times her versatility. They need to decide what they want out of her and from that they can go about figuring out how to promote, market, etc.

This is just how I see it. I really hope that AMF takes off and starts to change things for her. She is much too talented to not make it..
