Awww that's very sweet. I've been misconnected due to a flight delay and it was a nightmare trying to get another flight; I was stuck at the DC airport for 16+ hours until I lucked out and eventually got a standby on a redeye into Miami (after being offered a host of unacceptable solutions like waiting until the next day, flying into Chicago and then connecting to Ft. Lauderdale ). They were incredibly lucky the pilot waited.
