Again, not even all of the part of my post I was referring to.
It's not just that one situation, and my bigger questions lie in whether the surge pricing model and its rates are actually economically appropriate.
As it stands with just a Buzzfeed article as our source, and with little public information available about the surge pricing model's inner workings, we can't really make absolute judgments about this case. It's not even just last night that potential problems with the model have been discussed, and other incidents (MSG concert, anyone?) have brought the company's calculations into question as well.
I mean, the Better Business Bureau gave them an F rating in 2014 for precisely this reason.
