Plus it's nice to see artists pay homage to those who came before them and create their own interpretations of songs that they likely grew up listening to and loving. AND if it was a previously unknown song, it gets attention, like how J.lo's "All I Have" brought a new audience to Debra Laws' "Very Special".
And if it's a big hit like Uptown Funk, it could (and should) be a lot of nice royalty payments for the artist whose work has been sampled.
