I don't really care if her music is all upbeat or all heavy, just as long as it's something different. Her albums from Control through All For You each had their own identities but everything since then just felt a bit complacent. She doesn't need a drastic reinvention à la Madonna, she just needs to explore some new sounds/themes and I'd be happy.

By the way, "Make Me" is shaping up to be a good video!

Finally, she's writing her own lyrics. I hope this album shows all those preteens who are busy being obsessed with Lady GaGa what TRUE dance music is. Even if it doesn't, I'll be there, stanning for the QUEEN of Pop!

If this is anything as good as The Velvet Rope, then its a jackpot. Otherwise, an attempt to fit in to the current wave is not a wise plan. I suggest a modern throwback treatment.

I can't effing wait to hear the new album. Like Bobby said, what she needs is simply a new sound--a new musical direction. Her last four albums have all been quite similar, with different production but the same themes (Damita Jo being the most explicit and most generic).

The video looks to be yet another excellent addition to her videography. She really doesn't get the credit she deserves--the only other artist I can think of with consistently great videos is Madonna, but even she has gotten worse and worse lately.
