Should Sociology be a required course in High School?
I feel like a lot of people are really uneducated (no offense) in this subject. (this thread "inspired" me to make this thread)
You learn about things like color-blind racism (pretending like racism doesn't exist), and that not everything is cultural appropriation. It would benefit everybody, imo. And it really opens your eyes about lots of things. It would educate people a bit more. So..... should Sociology be a required course in High School?
Yes, but it needs to be taught from a leftist secular viewpoint. Same thing goes for Sex Ed, Biology, and Civic Education (except CE should be taught nonpartisan, but the required part still stands).
No, it's a waste of time. Give people more maths. Maybe they won't be so dumb and they won't have time to come up with nonsense like cultural appropriation etc. etc.
Yes tbh. I live in an island in Europe, of 700k people. We are basically secluded from the entire world. Without the internet, i wouldn't even know the little things i do know about some issues. So yeah, it should be a MUST.

Even in advanced countries like the US, many southern towns are still far behind. Some high schoolers still think that being gay is a choice, that creationism is real, that trans women are still men, etc...

So math will make people not come up with things like cultural appropriation but not Sociology?
