People are motivated to do Homework and study?

(jk, personally I get some chill music. Going to a library, a quiet place at home or where other people are working tend to do it for me. Avoiding the bedroom is like a must for me.)

Watch a movie or two or finish a season of Survivor and totally forget about it

I really struggled with this and when I came to realise that Homework shouldn't be done for the sake of doing it, but as a tool to reinforce the information into your head besides reading it, I begun doing Homework much more easily.

But that might just be me. With studying, work with other people about studying. Ask each other questions, test each other, and do flash cards with each other. That might work.
