Last night, me and my friend X went to a new year party. There he tagged along his newly bf that he just went for the first hangout. They have been dating online and never met irl. Anyways, I noticed his bf throwing indirect gestures at me like prolonged eye contact, indirect touching, and he even gave me his scarf so I could cover from the rain, and boy he smelled like some awesome perfume, it turned me all calm like baby in the cradle.
Today he contacted me over fb and flirted with me, but I kept it cool (didn't flirt) and told him to give my friend X chance and time to get to know him, and if things don't workout, then tell him so and inform him about me.
I don't want to ruin my newly started friendship with X, and at the same time his newly bf is such a gentleman and sweet man and so ****ing macho I'm shivering. I know if I betray my friend's trust he is going to hurt me since X is very vengeful. Any advice or tips about what to do guys ? Welp ?

Technically he is not his bf cause it's not a steady relationship but I wont ruin it
snatch him from your friend. since your friend is a vengeful person he would probably hold a grudge on you on something random down the line anyways. so might as well get that good BP and enjoy it.
If he's cheating on his NEW boyfriend, he probably will cheat on you if you guys get together later on. If you want to be friends with X, I would suggest you tell X that his BOYFRIEND whom he probably trusts a lot is flirting with you. I'm sure X would feel very thankful towards you.
