I think the 'She lost him, but she found herself...' bit was more of a symbolic end to the 1989 era. It marked the end of each night of the tour so it seems only logic that it means there won't be more singles!

Hopefully. New Romantics stans don't deserve to have it as a single.
yup this is 100% the final single. I mean it just felt like it visually and of course that quote was a big hint. New Romantics would of been great too but we couldn't have asked for a better way to close the era tbh. It was flawlessly executed. the only mistake was Style not getting the MV treatment it deserved and that's about it lol.
JESUS ****ING CHRIST the video has me in near tears! Easily the best of the era along with Blank Space. If she finishes things up with a sequel to that using New Romantics than this will literally be the era to end all eras
The video was so precious and I do think it actually marks the end of the era because that's the message that was used to close the tour and also the message for the song that closed the album. So it only makes sense that it symbolizes the album journey.
I love that video ended up just being about her. There was no guy, no love interest. She was looking/missing him, but in doing so she found herself. If that's not feminism, I don't know what is.
