this is a weird unfounded statement
a lot of young americans have iphones, and imessaging is free. i'm in plenty of large group chats. and regardless, i guess unlimited texting is way more affordable here because most people i come across have it. there just isn't a need for these apps unless you keep in contact with people in other countries.
