there's so much more to sound files than bitrate

m4a is the superior, successor to MP3 and can achieve higher quality audio using less space. hence why it's only 256kbps but sounds the same/better than an 320kbps mp3. with MP3s even at the highest bitrate you lose almost all sound over 15khz too
OT: Google Play is cute. I might try it for backing up my music but I use iTunes currently.
