Because Bill Cosby was a beloved celebrity (and still is famous) whereas no one can even NAME the charged, convicted, and arrested cop. Not only that, but Bill Cosby hadn't actually been officially charged or arrested until today if that other thread is to be believed, apparently. I'm sorry, but this isn't a "Ugh, the world hates black people and is out to get them," it's how society functions. If the cop was a black dude who raped a white woman and Cosby was a white rapist, Cosby would
still be the focus since he would
still be the famous one. Race doesn't tie in here, at least with which one is getting more coverage attention.
On a sidenote, these Cosby supporters are both racist (I'm sorry, but we both know this guy wouldn't be defending Cobsy if Cosby was Asian, white, Latino, or any race besides black) and sexist. It's genuinely painful to read what they say
Yes lets make this into Black vs White. How convenient. 
I'm not even exaggerating. I'm sure there's some backwoods hillbilly somewhere who does, but it's such a minority (and not even a particularly vocal one) Most PoCs don't do it either, but I do see more PoCs defend a person on race than I do white people. And in terms of celebrities, I could provide a lot more PoC celebrities doing this than white ones doing this.
