So we should consider #2 as #1 because the #1 this year has been occupying consecutive weeks on the Hot 100? Uh no. Example if Uptown Funk is on the Hot 100 for 14 weeks, and if no one is able to dethrone that single, then good job to Uptown Funk.
And also, it's not about QUANTITY it's about QUALITY. Example the 2006 list you listed:
- "Laffy Taffy" D4L
- "Grillz" Nelly featuring Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp
- "Temperature" Sean Paul
- "Bad Day"dagger Daniel Powter
- "Do I Make You Proud" Taylor Hicks
- "I Wanna Love You" Akon featuring Snoop Dogg
and the list goes on, all those reached #1 in 2006. I'd rather have only five different songs that reached #1 on the Hot 100 then 20 different songs that all suck.
