It's been almost 5 years since Gaga had a platinum album in the US. All her peers have gone platinum with their last albums (Katy, Taylor, Adele), but she hasn't. Why?

This is such an odd statement for a number of reasons. You clearly aren't a fan of hers. Which would mean you're a member of this "general public". But yet you spend an ample amount of time discussing her and her work, by choice.
Since 2011 she has released only 1 pop album which we all know was not a big commercial success( still 780k with 1 hit, a flop single and a single with no video).

See, this is me not having obsession over other faves.
She's only released one album since then so she'd have to flop one more time before we say "anymore"... Proof that the "years" logic y'all used to use for Bey's top 10 hits back in 2011/2012 is flawed.
Anyway, I don't think she'll be selling big in the US again but I'm open to being surprised.
