Yes he was
George Lucas has never known how to direct Actors, even Natalie Portman was iffy in those films
He is not that bad though, he is an okay actor, however star wars probably has the biggest amount of fanboys within the film industry.
Those movies were bad and he was the face of them, hence the fanboys took much of the blame on hin which was unfair because Lucas was totally running that trilogy, they sucked because the studio was riding too much on Geoge's dick
