Amiyah first filmed at Kenya Moore’s hair care launch but was nowhere to be seen on that episode. Instead, official “Friend of the Housewives” Shamea Morton made her mark by taking on Kenya and shading the absolute hell out of her products. Fast forward to this past Sunday’s episode, where Amiyah also filmed with the Housewives at Kandi Burruss and Demetria McKinney’s music video premiere; Again, however, Amiyah was cut completely out of the episode.

TMZ reports that Amiyah quit filming RHOA a month into production for a few reasons. “Producers were prodding Amiyah to sexualize herself … wearing lingerie and acting like a vixen,” a source told the site, stating that Amiyah wanted “to become a role model for other transgenders” and felt insulted by how she was being treated. Additionally, Amiyah felt “they tried making her the bitch of the cast, trashing the other housewives.”
Atlanta blogger Funky Dineva was at the music video launch and says that Amiyah was definitely filming with the rest of the cast. “The night was particularly magical because I witnessed Amiyah Scott first hand sitting on the sofa with the ladies of RHOA fully mic’d, and filming the entire length of the party,” he reports. “Amiyah had filmed several scenes with Kandi, [so her absence is] somewhat disappointing to me.”
Hearing TMZ’s information definitely adds some backstory to the situation because we also thought it was odd that we hadn’t yet met Amiyah, despite her being photographed at events with the other Housewives. Amiyah, for her part, openly shared on her Instagram that she left over a salary dispute.
We’ll never really know why exactly Amiyah isn’t a part of the cast, but if the rumours about production are true, then she was right to quit the show. At the end of the day, however, Amiyah has to own what she said and did on camera and if she was trashing the other Housewives, she was trashing the other Housewives.
For what it’s worth, we would have taken Amiyah over the very boring Kim Fields any day.
