But this newly found article from 2008, when she starred in Neighbours, cites her as 23 then - which would make her 30 now.

Yeah, when she broke out in 2010-2011, she was chopping off about 5-6 years. She was OUTED by former American Idol contestant Mandisa, who posted a TBT pic of Jessica when there were in high school - in 1997, not 2002-2003 like Jess was claiming.

The industry is ruthless, calculated and adaptive based on trends and demand, so if it's churning out celebrities with fake age data then we're the ones at fault for falling for it.
