I enjoy I Will and You're Not the One but I think for the most part everything just blends together. And when I saw her live she almost put me to sleep, girl has zero stage presence. Idk, to me, as a person, shes not that cool. Shes just like every rich girl in LA that thinks they're hard rockers and gets into heroine and sh*t and wants to be a mess just so they can fulfill their rock star desires. Idk, im still going to check out her next album. But she doesnt grip me.

I saw her live three times, and she rocked. Maybe it was due to small venue and crazy audience. Her concert at Williamsburg Music Hall (David Lynch Foundation) with DIIV was the best and most authentic concert I have ever been to. She talked to the audience a lot, played a lot of requests, and even cried while singing Sad Dream. Her vocals were above and beyond what she recorded on the album, and she never missed a beat. I was expecting her to be mediocre, and I'm glad she proved me wrong.
She grew up in a lower-middle class household raised by a single mother, is not actually into drugs (she broke up with Cole recently because he wouldn't go clean for her), and she is trying to clean up her image now that she has less baggage in her life. Night Time My Time was a reflection of what was going on in her life; constant fighting with her label, getting arrested for possessing her boyfriend's drugs, her boyfriend's addiction to heroine, being depressed, lacking confidence, and feeling like everything was her fault. Her ability to express these feelings in a genuine and articulate manner, blended with a matching set of production and instrumentals, is why the album is critically acclaimed. I'm not trying to call you out or be negative, because I had the same reaction to NTMT when it first came out. Now I can appreciate it for the cohesive body of work that it is.
