Albums 30-27
30. CULTURE OF VOLUME - East India Youth
I was a big fan of his 2014 release "Total Strife Forever". In his new release, he ventures more towards his chops as a pop singer, probably on the wing of the best track of his previous album "Dripping Down" getting strong positive reception. Unfortunately, William is no where near as strong a singer or songwriter than he is a producer. While the album has its strong points (and I love them, I think he should stick to his strengths
Standouts: TURN AWAY, ENTIRETY, CAROUSEL
29. Riot Boi - LE1F
Hunty goes off
The album is banger after banger. It shows that LE1F is here to stay. Whether he's progressing is another story, but I'm content with the output regardless
Standouts: Swirl (Junglepussy's verse omg), Koi, Lisa
28. Blurryface - Twenty One Pilots
I'm fond of this album the same way I was fond of Paramore's self titled last year. I love it when "alt" rock bands let go and allow themselves to dip in other genres. The result is some of the years best pop hooks on the radio. The album
could be cut shorter because the last fourth kind of drags but the singles have been fantastic.
Standouts: Heavydirtysoul, Ride, Tear In My Heart
27. Ugly Cherries - PWR BTTM
Bandcamp discoveries
I actually saw them live in boston and they were really cute (and i want to sleep with the drummer). I've been in need of a trashy queer band and they've been it for me lately. "I Want a boy who can go all night without stopping". Me too PWR BTTM, me too.
Standouts: I Wanna Boi, 1994, Serving Goffman
