Absolutely tbh. it's such a huge event! the only way I can see Xmas being better than New Years is if I was Mariah and kept getting 70k a week for a 25 year old song.

Not comparable. Xmas is the time you spend with your family, homey/warm atmosphere.
NY eve/aftermath is that time when you wake up at some stranger's house missing a shoe, with vomit all over the carpet and cheetos stuck in your nostrils.

that sounds much better than being with family tbh.
NYE is HORRIBLE. I hate the lack of spontaneity that comes with it. You have to dress up, drink, make small talk, even though you may feel under the weather (especially when it usually falls at the end of my menstrual cycle, awful). It's so forced, ugh. Everyone knows that the best parties of this sort (aka drunken parties) come unexpected & 99% of the time in the summertime.
Last year I decided to stay home & had lots of fun, but my friends stopped talking to me for a month afterwards (because I turned down their invitations without stating a concrete reason).
Christmas is different, cause it's family time. It doesn't have to be spontaneous.
