they were so ruthless back then.

Seriously? I hear Madonna's quite often on the radio, and Eartha Kitt's almost never.

They play both, but Eartha gets more play since its the original classic.

I live in Canada and its well known. To be honest Madonna sounds very childish on the record but everyone kinda thinks it her song cause it gets played around Christmas a lot but maybe its because she is the queen of pop.

I don't like her take on the song myself.
