So I used to do this every year in the good old days on another forum, but I actually haven't made a list for the last 3 years. This year I decided to do a small one because I thought it was a great year in music, one of the best in a while.
First these are the songs that didn't make the top 40 but were very close. Either because they were too new or they didn't have as much impact on me like the songs in the top 40.
I really sucks that these didn't make it because I love them all. Anyway I can't wait to read your comments.

40. Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGflUbPQfW8
This was such a early summer jam. I predicted that it would be the song of the summer before anyone else even knew this song. The production on this is AMAZING, my type of beats, I'm starting to think it should be higher. but then again I don't really connect with Omi as an artist so I'm okay with it. I still think his vocals are kinda weak and quiet on this.
39. Bebe Rexha - I Can't Stop Drinking About You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeBYIElpEPo
This is the girl that sings the chorus of Hey Mama by David Guetta, if you guys didn't know. I usually don't like generic electro house, but I love this song. I typically prefer deep/tropical or future house, and with Trap influences. This song is very underrated and way better than Hey Mama (which was no where close to making my list, overrated trash :x ) And so is Bebe as an artist (underrated not trash). :P
38. ILOVEMAKONNEN f/ Drake - TUESDAY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avFq9errZCk
This song actually brings me back to NYE 2014, when me and my friends along with a bunch of randoms were all stuck in a hotel elevator (it was messed up and wouldn't go to our floor) we were all drunk and my friend starts singing this and everyone in the elevator starts [s]chanting [/s] screaming along. And we hand this mini party in the elevator. But this song has no reply value and I'm so sick of it now.
37. Fifth Harmony - Sledgehammer

Ahhh, a winter 2015 song. I never really liked girl groups before but 5H is the first one I love. All the girls are hot, especially Camila for me! Followed by Normani. This is not really my type of song but it has grown on me SO much!
36. Magic! - Let Your Hair Down
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5YP_oLcgpg
This song is the most feel-good summer vibes you can ever get. Perfect to chill and relax too. The reggae/pop sound really works. I LOVE this guitar solo in the the bridge, ugh perfect! Should be a bit higher to be honest but I'm too lazy to change my list now.

This is my ABSOLUTE favourite song right now! It was out since the summer, but it's only now starting to get HUGE. So I've only been listening to it for a month and it already made such a huge impact on me that it made my top 35. This will be a huge song in 2016, so be prepared to hear this a lot everywhere.
34. Chris Brown, Tyga - Ayo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKCrSN9oXgQ
Such a club banger. I love the "I need you" in the song, but the whole song is so catchy. You'll see Chris Brown a few more times on my list this year
33. Drake - Energy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LnBvuzjpr4
I really think this deserved to be bigger than it was. IMO it's way better than Hotline [s]Bland[/s] Bling. h34rwave: I got enemies, got a lot of enemies... so catchy! The video is weird though.
32. Grimes f/ Blood Diamonds - Go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIi57zhDl78
Grimes actually wrote and produced this song especially for Rihanna. But then Rihanna changed her mind and didn't choose it to be on her album, Grimes recorded and released it herself. Which is bittersweet because this would be HUGE for Rihanna. But Grimes adds a cool mysterious vibe to it. This was always such a hit at all the parties I played it at, another awesome club banger!
31. Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjjVq90VC8E
So if you know me kinda well, this being so low might shock you. But as much as I LOVE Carly and her ability to create perfect pop music, this song isn't really my type of music. Definitely the most catchy song of the year, but it didn't connect with me for some reason, and it's one of the weakest tracks on her (f**king amazing album E•MO•TION). But it grew on me and I especially LOVED it when I heard this tropical house remix!! This remix was my personal song of the summer.

I agree that the Energy video is... unique. LYHD ranked very highly in my 2014 Year-End Event, nice to see it recognized again. It's an excellent relaxation song. I love the vibe of their whole album.
