Miss Puerto Rico 2015 has been indefinitely suspended from her role by the Miss America organization for launching a tirade against Muslims on Twitter.

Destiny Velez, 20, fired off a series of tweets at filmmaker Michael Moore on Thursday in which she blasted the religion, The Washington Times reported.

Moore had posted a picture of himself outside Trump Tower in New York City with a sign reading, “We are all Muslim." His image was in response to Donald Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S., which prompted the #WeAreAllMuslim Twitter hashtag.



Velez tweeted directly at Moore multiple times, saying Muslims had "terrorizing agendas," Latin Times reported.

Many Twitter users labeled her a bully, and the hashtags #nonosrepresentas (you don't represent us) and #verguenzaajena (embarrassment) started trending in Puerto Rico, per Morocco World News.

It led the Miss Puerto Rico Organization, which runs an official preliminary competition for the Miss America Organization, to release a statement saying Velez had been "suspended indefinitely."

"In regards to Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Velez's, recent actions and conduct; the Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program, nor that of our board members, our sponsors and partners, or the National Organization," it said in the statement posted to its official Facebook page.

"Miss Velez's actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization," it added.

Actually, this is false. Most terrorism isn't reported by western media (because no one cares unless it's in a western country or Israel) and it's usually politically motivated and not religiously motivated. Even modern day "Muslim" terrorism is usually politically motivated. Also, if you want to actually count terrorism historically, I'm sure Christians might have Muslims beat on violence. Or maybe it's equal?

The Nagas have suffered brutal oppression and intense persecution on the part of India's Hindu majority, and some references have suggested that hundreds of thousands of Nagas have been killed in India since the late 1940s. Christians are the victims of Hindu extremists.

I don't think you actually read the Human Rights Watch article you linked to because that's not accurate at all.

It's from 1999 and refers to the 90s violence in Gujarat, a state in Western India, when Christians and Muslims were attacked by right-wing BJP supporters. Nagaland is a state in Northeastern India and the terrorism in that region is rooted in a separatist movement (just like the ones from Sikhs in Punjab and Muslims in Kashmir) to get their own countries. Those have nothing to do with "brutal oppression and intense persecution." In fact, Naga people and other Northeast Indians barely have contact with other states unless they move into different ones. The government and media essentially ignores them. The discrimination they face is rampant when they move to big cities in different states for opportunities because they're treated like foreigners in their own country.

By the way, if oppression is the qualification to remove the "terrorism" label then all terrorism doesn't qualify as terrorism. Even Islamic terrorism like acts pushed by Hamas are rationalized with that reason.
