I definitely understand why people hate this song, it's kind of abrasive in like, many different ways, and she yells and her vocals are kind of a mess. One of the biggest criticisms I've heard on this site is that it's generic/trend chasing. I mean, I strongly disagree. I think it's one of her most unique/innovative songs in YEARS. So, discuss why this song has that reputation and/or why it is or isn't in your opinion.
Because she's an old woman singing about things like going hard or going home, getting freaky, swimming with your clothes on, etc. It comes over as very try hard and wanting to be "cool" with the youngins. I like it though, it's just a fun song.

Maybe I'll come off as a delusional stan, but I think that's sorta supposed to be the appeal, that she sounds so ridiculous and silly. I mean obviously it's not for everyone cause of that though.
