Joints for when you can smoke where you are.
Edibles for when you cant smoke where you are, just have to consume it a few hours earlier.

Personally I think edibles are so much more better than any form of smoking. They're cheaper, more discreet, and easier than smoking. Plus they don't give me cottonmouth which I really hate.
