Mariah's a ratings magnet; Xmas special wins in ratings.

It was a pretty soft Saturday on cable, with no program crossing the 1.0 barrier in adults 18-49. An airing of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” on ABC Family led the day with a 0.9.
“A Christmas Melody,” the Hallmark Channel movie directed by and co-starring Mariah Carey, was the most watched cable show of the day with 3.95 million viewers and a 0.6 in 18-49. The first round of college football bowl games didn’t make much of a splash. The Camellia Bowl (Appalachian State vs. Ohio) and the New Mexico Bowl (Arizona vs. New Mexico) each drew a 0.5.

Mariah has been known as a ratings & viewership boost for years so this comes as little surprise.
