I just watched it, and it
kinda slayed. The writing and direction kinda surprised me; I wasn't expevting for it to be so gritty and real. Furthermore, I have James Franco did an amazing job! My other complaint with the film is that I couldn't figure out it were a feminist film, or if it was just using it as a way to validate its sexualization of women. Many critics had the same opinion, which contributes to its polarizing reviews. Also, the ending had a few issues as well. It left me wanting more and it definitely wasn't realistic or complete. It contained a few unanswered questions for sure. Overall, I'll give this a film a 3.5/5 as it was a solid film with a few issues.
What about you? Have you seen it and what did you think?
