you are also so terribly misinformed about the economy. "trickle down economics" have proven time and again to not work and cutting taxes for the rich isn't ever going to jump start our economy. clinton is also a highly moderate democrat so i wonder what "handouts" you're speaking of. you sound like you're parroting your conservative parents' dinner table conversation and i hope you educate yourself a bit.

On Hillary, I was referring to her being forced further to the left to appeal to Bernie's supporters. Raising taxes on the rich isn't going to do anything either. As I said, it will only encourage more of the rich to keep their money expatriated. You can't be too lenient on the capitalists, but you also can't be too harsh. The real key for the economy is to get people working. Jobs have to be created. Businesses have to be started. Raising taxes too much might just discourage that. Investors have to invest in small businesses. Side note, a lot of conservatives don't agree with Trump on raising taxes on the wealthy. Another thing discouraging job creation are lot of unnecessary regulations ( some make giants like Walmart bigger, while mom and pop shops go extinct). Some silly ones have to do with environmental concerns. But some threats to the environment, including global warming, are very overestimated. The deal that all these nations just reached, a weak one where none are really even forced to keep their word, will prevent temperatures from raising a few (single digits) degrees over almost a century. I'm not saying climate change isn't a threat. It's just very overblown. While we cut our emissions, let's see if China and India finally start cutting theirs.
On Cruz, I don't agree with everything he supports. But there is more to reality than just social issues. Do you honestly believe a few degrees of climate change over a hundred years is really a more pressing issue than ISIS here and now? I say this to say that while we still have a lot of social justice to fight for, we cannot let the nation slip away. Terrorists have declared war on us. We keep raising the debt, who's going to keep funding us? Some people on the far left literally want to oppose the first amendment, political correctness gone too far. Cruz is a fundamentalist, but he's about religious people having their right to practice their religion ( most people agree that Kim Davis violated her position though). He's about the country staying on a sustainable path. He's not about taking away your liberty, but rather protecting it. Also, if climate change in the long run is such an issue, isn't the national debt in the long run a major issue?
The second amendment gives us the right to protect ourselves. Notice a lot of mass shootings are soft targets where no guns are allowed. America has a bit of an obsession with guns, I'll give you that. But people still need to be able to protect themselves. Background checks are not going to keep insane criminals from getting guns. They aren't going to keep terrorists from getting guns. Bad guys are going to get them regardless. And furthermore, guns as deadly as they are, are not the main problem. A fool who wants to wreak havoc will do it with a gun, a knife, a car, a bomb, etc. Mental health issues are the true cause. Our second amendment has also protected us all through our history from the possible invaders. Weaponry is more sophisticated now, but guns still protect us, our freedom and our liberties. Chicago with its strict gun laws, yet it has a higher homicide rate than any gun-loving town in the south.
