Because she wasn't. She was definetly popular at her peak in the 90's and had a nice run from like 1994-2002 and was the most popular female for her genre (black teen pop star) but overall it's easy to forget her in the grand scheme of things because she was overshadowed by too many other R&B/ pop stars back then (Mariah, Whitney, Boyz II Men, Toni, Janet,TLC etc) Then you factor in that she fell off in the 2000's and you had the new breed of pop divas (Beyonce/Rihanna) who went on to overshadow her in every aspect doing bigger things then she ever did. It's easy to see how people just sort of forget about Brandy.

Wow! Wonderful!
But this thread is about why Brandy never gets her credit for being successful. It's not about anyone else luv.
I don't understand how you can say "oh popular @ her peak!" "Most popular in her genre!" & then continue on to say she was never big. What kind of contradiction
