I love that she was not bothered by ppl thinking she was Arab. some ppl take offense to that because they are scared of being associated with "terrorism" because the west mistakenly and stupidly views arabs as terrorists.

Why are you so surprised? Tons of people here really think of an Indian when they hear "Arab" or "Muslim" or "Middle Eastern." They genuinely believe Middle Eastern people look like South Asians. Remember Naveen Andrews playing an Iraqi on Lost? It was so strange, especially when they hired realistic actors to play his family.

Someone just made a thread earlier today about favorite Arab stars and a person responded saying he only knows of Priyanka Chopra. In another thread about favorite Arabic songs, someone mentioned the last Cheetah Girl movie where they visit India.

I think the irony is that she was assumed a terrorist IN THE SHOW because of her nationality and even called a "jihad" by the news networks in the show. Lol. But she definitely has a point. Just thought it was a little ironic.

Sadly the west, specifically America, is bubbled. Enclosed on the rest of the world so their perception of "'Arab" is brown.

What they don't know is that on average we're lighter than Desi skin is. Priyanka's skin tone screams Indian so that's how you know someone is ignorant.
