Then people almost a decade later are smashing with songs that sound like they could have been rejects from the album? She is ahead of the game, and her decade-old work is still influencing artists on the come up these days. Focus is proof of that.
I'm pretty objective when it comes to the hype surrounding her, and it actually annoys me a lot of the time because I feel like people become blinded by it and don't actually view her work as they should. I didn't even like Self-Titled on first listen, and that was the most hype driven time in her career ever.

Not true. The sound that Beyonce has done was a hit at one time. Why because she's used those sounds in her music? This is coming from someone who stanned for DC3 and Beyonce up until Single ladies. Her sounds are from hits of the past and the sound that Pharrell smashed with a couple of years ago is a retro sound. not a retro Beyonce sound which by default would be retro since the music in her first 4 albums in particular can be traced back to hits of the past.
Perhaps, you'd have to know more about music outside of your immediate reach.
B'day was not seen as a commercial failure. It's just typical beyonce. Major promotion, loads of singles but she might get 2 or 3 solid hits out of 6 or 7 released.
She always sells decently. Her first 4 eras she was never the top seller or top female seller of those eras.
Sounding like rejects from the b'day album is personal opinion.
You are only CONFIRMING my point that alot of beyonce stans just copy and paste the propaganda and hype machine of her label and use it to think that people smashing with hits that are derivative of Beyonce songs for which are easily derived from r&b, pop and hip hop songs before it.
It's like saying people are copying gaga's musical style of born this way as if Express yourself never existed.
Then again, it might be an awareness thing with you. I'd just say do your homework.
As a former beyonce stan, I am well aware of many of the sounds/styles/productions/performances/ music that were hits when used and she's applied it to a generation that think she created it.
