Steven Tyler has left Aerosmith, according to the band's guitarist Joe Perry, who told the Las Vegas Sun on Nov. 6 that their frontman had quit.

They were like, my first introduction to rock via "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing," and up to this point Aerosmith was like my oldest favorite rock band; now I guess that title goes to either RHCP or Metallica.

And FTR, the lack of responses in this thread is a testament to how ignorant the people on this board are -- along with RUN-DMC, Steven Tyler & co jump started what would later become the poorly misnamed bastard child of hip hop & rock, "nu metal."

At this point. Steven's irreplaceable so....

Well, at this point, its best to defunct Aerosmith. Steven Tyler is largely accountable to the group for what they are now and I dont think anyone can make such a statement for Aerosmith like Tyler had it.

I just insinuated that RHCP and Aerosmith were kinda old,. Regardless, all the members of Aerosmith have at least 10 years of any of the Peppers, if not more.

Honestly, I never really cared for Aerosmith, but I have loved quite a few U2 songs, which will, probably, put me on Christian's **** list. At the same time, this is a pretty big breakup, considering that Aerosmith was, indisputably, one of the most important bands of the last 30+ years.

Why Aerosmith? Why not U2?
