Those are the pits too, but being gay and Republican tells me they actually had to think their political beliefs through in depth if they are willing to support something which doesn't always line up with their social life.
I'm not a Republican at all... However, it has become apparent especially lately that (possibly the majority) Americans don't think their beliefs through at any depth, and then passionately support those beliefs. I'm just promoting thought.
Gay republicans might be wrong, but it's absolutely wrong to trash them. I disagree with them when it all comes down to it, but I commend them actually giving the usually social opposing side thought as far as non-gay issues go.
Gay people who are Republican in terms of gay issues are a different story. That tells me that the person is either trying to be edgy for attention or they've been brainwashed by a conservative mindset their whole life to the point that they have yet to attain empathy for their own kind.
