ATRL alone has a problem with pitting women against each other, whilst leaving the men fairly unscathed.
You're less likely to see people fighting over whether Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth has better abs than you are as to whether Katy Perry or Lady Gaga makes better music. And it really shouldn't be that way, because Gaga and Katy have both contributed in significant ways to pop culture and if we really respected women, we'd be happy that two women were able to debut at the same time and impact pop music so greatly in a short amount of time.
For instance - look at Madonna. There is NO reason why we should deny her the title of Queen of Pop, but you'll find people on this forum ready to rip that title from her to hand it to any female upstart who can manage a hit. Meanwhile, no one dares to suggest anyone else besides Michael Jackson is the King of Pop lest they be ridiculed. It's such a double standard - it's not a double standard the public is innocent of, but gays generally treat women as if they're either spotless living Barbie dolls or trash can fodder.
