I like Padme in The Clone Wars series.

Padme had potential, but they cut all of her non-Anakin subplots from Revenge of the Sith. The Clone Wars show and some of the books helped strengthen her character, but she can't really stand on her own as a strong movie character the way Leia can.

Padme. She was a strong character who lived fully for her ideals, only to watch everything she fought for fold up and die before she herself passed. She's a far more interesting character.

Padme was salvaged for me due to my headcanon of Palpatine killing her through the force. The whole "lost the will to live" thing never worked for my taste.

These two articles offer an interesting take. I'd already thought of Palpatine killing her at this point, but the additional stuff they added is really cool and backs up my thought process.

I've always had a bit of a fixation with Padme since I was little and growing up she was probably my favorite. Hindsight shines more favorably on Leia though and Leia is (obviously) more of a presence in the post-ROTJ expanded universe, which was primarily how I interacted with Star Wars throughout middle school and high school.

Agreed. She looks better than Padme, if nothing else.

As for people bringing in EU, this is movies only.

Mara is flawless and amazing and certainly better than Padme. I agree with the EU being thrown out, but I will never abandon Mara.

Padmé. If you think about it, she is basically the reason the star wars saga exists.

I love Padmé. She was the heart/emotion of the prequals. She fought and portrayed a suffering person. Which we all are throught our lives. We're strong, we cry sometimes and suffer. She is a well rounded female.

Leia is iconic and the true Queen.
