Beyonce Ready to Battle Her Dad For Destiny’s Child Name — Report
Beyonce is “Jumpin’ Jumpin” into the legal arena against her father, Matthew Knowles.
The reason? Destiny’s Child. Queen Bey is apparently sick and tired of her ex-manager’s hold on her iconic girl group’s name.
“She’s ready to take action,” a pal told In Touch. “Beyonce is going to sue her own father. She’ll take him to court to show that she deserves the rights to her own band.”
The power move is basically “Independent Women” come to life.
‘Yonce apparently never wanted to take her dad to court, but the 63-year-old won’t let the DC women use the moniker unless they drop some cash. Now, “she feels he basically stole the group and the [trademark] on Destiny’s Child.”
The Grammy winner’s anger certainly makes sense. B, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams performed at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards together earlier this year, but the words “destiny’s” and “child” were never mentioned.
Despite the obvious group effort, Matthew apparently wouldn’t give the talented trio the privilege because he wants a payday. Bey and her media mogul husband Jay reportedly refuse to give in.
The insider plans to see fireworks next year between the “***Flawless” performer and her dad.
“Expect 2016 to be the year that Beyonce takes control of her destiny and watches the man who took advantage of her go down in flames,” the source concluded.
