I kinda discovered this song by accident, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. The production on "King" so sleek and polished. Years & Years are a promising group and I really think they will be able to crack the American market with a few more tries.
39. Ellie Goulding • "Love Me Like You Do"
"Love Me Like You Do" was a great pop song and another big hit for Ellie, but I know she is capable of much more than this. However, even though it's very vanilla, it works, especially for the tragic film it promoted.
38. Ariana Grande • "One Last Time"
Yeah... "One Last Time" is nice for Ariana, but its just a little too basic compared to the other singles from the era. Fortunately, it's better than "Focus", which DOESN'T appear on my list. P.S. Ariana you have tragic single covers. Fix it.
37. Natalie La Rose f/ Jeremih • "Somebody"
The reason why Natalie La Rose doesn't have a career yet is because she did not develop any artistic identity with "Somebody". Regardless, it's a total bop and she is an amazing dancer so I have to give her props for the flawless Whitney interpolation.
