fixed I don't like it bcs it's not consistent like her previous stuff.. every song is like out of the place, there is no flow... Why do u like it?
I hate the fact that I own physical copies of Butterfly AND Litter box, and Don't own Memoirs, Einstein and Me I am
what is not to like about Diamond Box? I simply love it and it has a special place in my heart bc I got it in the year it slayed the world (1994). It was my first studio album that I possessed (by any artist).
I was such an angel-sweet-AC-loving-goodie-goodshoe back then. Lol. I played Music Box so often that I had to buy a second copy at the end of the 1990's bc the original one had too many scratches.
I cannot even estimate how often I played it, or how often I played Without You individually.
From around 1994-1998 (the advent of Napster) I would ONLY play Mariah's music. Every farking day. And within the 1990's I only owned 4 releases: Music Box (1), Butterfly (2), #1's (3) and Rainbow (4). The last album I needed to complete her discography was MTV which I bought in 2003.
But back to Music Box. For me personally it is magical. I love the wrist-slitting Everything Fades Away. I simply cannot live WITHOUT YOU and in every person I do see a Hero. Anytime you need a friend, I'll be there. All I ever wanted in my life, was to be slayed, Now that I know what music can do to your soul, like opening it for love, and yourself, I began to look for my Dreamlover and once I realised that Mariah is my dreamlover, my soulmate, I prayed to the stars, that I will never forget how she made me feel. I've been thinking about that moment and I would tell my little self, should I ever possess the power to travel through time, that we've made it in the future, I would then hold me once again, just before I wake up and everything faded away.
Tbh half of Rainbow is basically trash, except for Heartbreaker, CTTA, Bliss, After Tonight, AAO, DIDT (which is flawless so don't @ me) and Petals. And the good songs don't really fit together well.
Charmbracelet is actually underrated. At first I was like but I love it now
I feel like we have SUCH similar taste, which is why I find it odd you don't like Butterfly. I honestly wasn't crazy about it when it first came out, but it's really grown on me. Maybe it'll grow on you too

Life is like a Music Box: sweet and tenderly.

I vote for Stevyy for best lamb, Music Box is Amazing from start to finish.
And yes. Jojo deserves the success that Ari/Selena/Demi(kind of)/Miley are getting.
She's more talented, and has a WAY better personality. She's so down-to-Earth and chill. People just need to be re-introduced to her, and she will start slaying.

fefe trust me I have tried to force it on me, I listened to it from time to time, even while reading the lyrics... it's just not working lol MAYBE someday, but for now it's far from her best albums
Whenever I hear Sent From Up Above, for some reason I think of All Around The World and that they're similar, but in great different ways. One of my favs from Mariah Carey!!
And ya'll so need to stop trashing Rainbow! It's an R&B experimental jam, minus the filler DIDT. It's actually a great listen if you listen clearly!
Rihanna: I remember when I met [Mariah]... She was like, "Didn't you butcher my song Hero?" And I was like, "When is your voice gonna get the strength to carry on?"
And then Mary saying, "Mariah encourages me to go on even though I can't sing live anymore. If she can do it, I can."
