Maybe it's just me, but I thought Mademoiselle part of the movie was the twist and in this remake it seems they stripped the revenge and psychological aspects. They took such a beautiful piece of art and made it one dimensional... Hopeless.

Great job ruining the orignal's explanation that the phenomenon of the matyr has nothing to do with religion by including a cross in the title...

Um? I assume it's a remake of the French film Martyrs, but they've seem to have changed the plot, turn it into a run-of-the-mill horror and away from the psychological thriller that made it so disturbing. However, it's not to surprising Hollywood has always been crap at remaking foreign films.

The original was the most disturbing piece of cinema i've ever seen. I can't believe they're remaking this rather than burying it.

NOPE, leave a great French film alone stupid hollywood.Somehow every French and Spanish horror movie the last decade beats anything made elsewhere.Except maybe Japan.

are you serious****ingsly? where is the original? where is the atmosphere of the first film?
MESS. Ugh its going straight to VOD so it must be not so good if they wont even give it a wide theathrical release.
Plenty of amazing horror films have gone straight to VOD (The Guest for example). They just aren't giving it a wide theatrical release because it would probably do poorly.
