I recognise that this is a good album, and I love that we have a successful lesbian female in the UK who represents the LGBTQ+ community. The production just seems a bit half baked for me and lacks the oomph that it needs. Plus, I just find it hard to relate to some of the things she says as a bisexual man.

I just wasn't the audience...

Despite, with a better production team and more resources (which she is sure to have with the success of this record) I could see Rae becoming a pop entity that our heteronormative faves will fear.

Considering that this album was written (partly) and made by a 15 year old is pretty amazing. Taking this fact in to consideration, this album is very mature for her age.

The maturity of the record is however my problem with it. It makes me disconnect with the record when I hear a 15 year old singing about starting over and having heartbreak. I just don't believe it, sorry babe! Plus, her voice simply doesn't suit some of these records.

Sometimes it is seriously like the youth was sucked out of her, but this is still a very promising debut effort. The title track and We'll Be The Stars are some pretty amazing tracks.

Tamar Braxton

Love me some Tamar, and this album is no different.

I love the way that she has mixed traditional early 2000's R&B with the Hip Hop/ R&B fusion that we are used to hearing today. It is really something special. However, for a 18 track album, maybe half of the tracks hit all the notes that they need to.

Angels & Demons, Let Me Know and Catfish are all amazing tracks. The rest range from "nice!" to "zzz".

I feel like if this album was cut down to 9-12 tracks, it could have really been a stellar body of work, but as it stands as a product now it is too long of a listen. It's like living on a diet of stale bread, then having the bread replaced with chocolate, only for the chocolate to be stolen the next second.

I like what I've heard from Tamar, it seems like a lot of her music is just from another era, but in a nice way not a dated way you know?

Poor girl. She really had it all, but Simon says you lose it all, and well... bye career!

Despite that, this EP is really good. Considering the small budget that has obviously gone in to this release, Alex has managed to make a great free cohesive EP on the budget of £2.48 with a Morrison gift voucher tossed in. It's really commendable. Plus, tracks like 'Can We Go Down' and 'Hall of Fame' are simply jaw dropping. Good work, babe.
